All About Health

In 1948, the World Health Organization defined health as “a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not simply the absence of disease or infirmity”. Health can be maintained or restored through practicing healthy behaviors while avoiding harmful ones; promotion can be accomplished with various medical and non-medical approaches.
Health science encompasses an expansive spectrum of disciplines that span biology, chemistry, physics, epidemiology, statistics, pharmacology and medicine. The purpose of health science is to understand how human bodies operate so that this understanding may be applied in order to maintain or improve health – applications of health science are found outside clinical medicine such as health education, public health, biomedical engineering and biological anthropology.
